Alloy body Healeys?

Alright, so I'm a complete fool when it comes to Healeys. Anyways, some of you might have seen my post in the introductions page, if not, here is the link. My friend found a AH with two trees, and it looks to me like it is highly modified (frame swap, possible engine swap...). Where there any AH's made in alloy? I can't find any information online, and the car has surprisingly not rusted away, and considering its location in the Northwest and half buried in shrubs, it seems it should. Any help would be gratefully accepted, thanks!

We are going to need a lot more information than that. What model Healey? Is it a four or six cylinder? If it's had an engine and frame swap then it's value has been reduced. I can't imagine it's had its frame swapped though.

The front and rear shrouds on every Healey were made of alloy. The shrouds are the middle sections between the wings.

In addition to the aluminum shrouds, the outer fenders, door skins, hood and trunk lid are available in aluminum, so they could have been swapped. An all alloy body from the factory is quite rare.

It may have a Jag front end mated to a Healey rear end, but that's just a guess.

And by wings I assume are referencing fenders? Sorry, I'm not extremely wide in alternate names other than the ones I know. As far as model, no idea. I am pretty certain it is a six, though. That's what my friend said

The thing is, those trees are old. My guess is 10-5 years, plus probably another 5-10 sitting in place there. Were there aftermarket aluminum panels available 20 years ago?

And very true about the possibility of a Jag front end, but I have no idea still.

Again, I am just making guesses right now. I am going to try and head over to at least look at it and get some pictures. I don't care about getting the car as much as solving a mystery that has been aggravating me for a solid year.

Thanks!

Yes, they were available when I started my restoration 20 years ago.

Alright, well that actually helps a tremendous amount. My friend, the view, said that it looked surprisingly rust free, and considering the rear quarters aren't 100 matched tells me that they might have been swapped, in this case aluminum. Thanks!
