Going to my 50th high school class reunion tonight. Where did a half century go?

You're a few years ahead of me, but I can relate! Enjoy the night!

"Zooom! What was that? That was your life mate! Oh, that was quick, do I get another? Sorry mate, that's your lot!" -- Basil Fawlty

When I visited family and former students during my coast to coast drive last fall, I noticed that people I knew 40-50 years ago had somehow grown old.

Weird.

My 25th is next year. Time does cruise along.

Rhodyspit75 -- you graduate from a RI high school? I grew up in N. Scituate.

Cumberland High. Class of 64. Helped my friend build a house on Tunk Hill Rd in 65. Bill & Rita LaDuke. W.J.LaDuke Construction. You probably know them. Not that many people in N. Scituate back then. I used to drive out there every day in my TR3.

50 years! Where did the time go? Hope you have a great time!

I still have friends from high school but our class was small and we haven't done anything formal since the 25th reunion.

Next weekend I'll be meeting up with one of my old Trenton State College engineering graphic professors at a race at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

I haven't seen him since about 1970 (44 years). I currently teach engineering graphics so it will be funny to meet him again and talk shop.

He had an MGA Twin Cam back then but he has an ALFA Spider these days.

In mid-October we're meeting up with four old college pals of mine including my roommate (a TR3 owner), whom I haven't seen since '72. One of the other guys who I see more regularly will be there with either his Bugeye or his Boxter (he also has a TR6).
We'll be meeting up at my friend Gil's house in Freehold. Gil played in a band with Springsteen before The Boss was famous (I saw them back then).

Memories!

Good friend of mine graduated from Cumberland in '90. I do remember LaDuke Construction. Born and raised in N. Scituate, lived there until graduating from high school in '90.

Small world (especially if you're from RI  )

Graduated High School in 1956! Today, the class reunion can be held in a small room. Not a whole lot left sorry to say. :frown: PJ

Did that 6 months ago and recognized no one from then. A few recognized me but out of about 200 only names allowed me to recall who they were.

I KNOW I'm not getting any older but have you noticed how they are making kids younger and younger these days? Weird x2.

I went and had a nice time. I'm happy to say I have weathered the last 50 better than most of my classmates. I think I have gotten taller.

Sunday morning we also had a breakfast at the high school. Later we were given a tour of the school we knew as huge. It's about 5 times as big now. I showed up in my Spitfire and got a lot of " nice car".

Had some rough moments as my wife who graduated a year later had passed away last April. Most of my class knew her and some didn't know she had died.image.jpg

This is about one half of the people that came to breakfast. I'm the guy last row all the way to the right.
