Just got back from seeing a sad Healey down the street from me... estate sale car ..not run in 5 plus years..frame has been bolstered with tubular pipe from the outrigger to the rear crossmember on both sides..a real frankenframe!!!!

Brown in color, which is fitting, custom nasty interior.......body is presentable no exterior rust..

Want to rescue it but I cant see myself going over $5000.

So what is the concensus of the group.

Pete

I think 5k is a stretch. If it's reasonably complete, with a Jules or Kilmartin frame, you could build a good car. Problem is, someone that doesn't know squat will come along and give them 10k or more.

Someone will buy it for around $5000, ship it back to the UK and put it on ebay as a restoration for ÂŁ15,000.

I have seen many rough USA imports (or should that be re imports) on ebay for above ÂŁ10,000.

There's a car on ebay now that's a total disaster and the price is still going up over 5000 now it probably would take over 60 grand to get it to look decent

Offered 3000..should know by the end of the week..

Well, sent a written appraisal of the car with an offer of $3000. The son was not surprised I was told but had to get approval from another brother....we all know how THAT works out..

I can hear the brother now: Are you kidding me? I saw that auction in Scottsdale where one just like this sold for $150,000! :wall:
