Bats

My daughter has bats living behind one of her shutters. My son in law moved the shutter and located them. Any thoughts on how to keep them away?

Mothballs? Build 'em a bat house away from the house?

Neighbor had the same problem.

Remove shutter (or somehow scare the bats out).

Tack window screen or similar netting around the edges of the shutter, so they can't get behind the shutter.

No more bats.

I'd put up a bat house to keep them in the area, for sure. As Don says, they've a voracious appetite for insects.

Why remove them.
Big bug eaters
They do eat a lot of bugs which means they poop a lot. She found them because their front steps were getting a lot of bat droppings. My next door neighbor put up a bat house with his son years ago. Never had a bat.

I've tried it here but with the same result. Kinda disappointing in that there is a huge mosquito population.

Get them one of these???! :D

Sorry Basil but the bats pooped on her Basil. I had to bring her some of mine for a Caprese salad.
