We have 6" centipedes, like THIS here in NM. Few times a year we end up with on or two in the house. The little buggers a VERY hard to kill!

But we don't have anything like these creepy things: African Millipedes

I thought a Millipede was one of those postwar Italian minicars....

This time of year the Milli's are out in force at night

Thankfully, those things aren't around down here. And no scorpions, either.

we Supposedly have scorpions

We definitely have scorpions. We also have lots of these around the house:

Texas Brown Tarantulas, we see them on rare occasions. They can be 4 inches across. They don't bother anyone, of course their nothing to play with either. I think there's one living in the barn now. I won't kill them! Their actually very docile. PJ

Something I didn't know....spider's legs are hollow. They move them using a vacuum/pump system. Nature is incredible in it's engineering.

No millipedes here but we have quite a few types of spiders; Tarantula, Brown Recluse, Black Widow, Wolf just to name a few. We let the Tarantulas and Wolf spiders live, they eat harmful insects in the gardens. We also have scorpions and centipedes.

We had a tarantula for a pet for a while. Named him Terrence. We have all the others on your list as well. HATE Widows! Those things just creep me out!

Sometimes I'm glad I don't live in such exotic climes. I'm a big girls blouse when it comes to spiders even though I know its completely irrational (in the UK at least).

Tarantulas are great, and they live for a long time. When I was in grade school one took up residence in my mom's flower bed. After a year I took to calling him Tarantula Tim.

The widows don't bother me as much as the Brown Recluse do.

Moved from Laredo to Wichita Falls in the summer of 1959, and remember seeing migrating tarantulas crossing the highway. Made this East Coast wimp think about what changing a tire would entail. And speaking about garden bug control, I buy a Praying Mantis egg sack (or whatever you call the nest they make in the fall) every spring and toss it into the adjacent bushes. That was a great link Basil, I ended up looking at videos of the new Alfa C4.

The tarantulas come out in droves during the summer around here, unless you see them on the roads, you'd not believe how many of them there really is.

Wichita Falls has done quite a bit of growing in the past 20 years, much less the past 55. They now have raised highways and the city spreads out almost to Burkburnett in the North.
