help with pilot bushing

I am about to reinstall the transmission on my 67 BJ8 to finish a new clutch job. My question is. The new pilot bushing went over the cluch alignment tool (Moss Motors) very easy outside of the car. Now today after soaking the pilot bushing in oil overnight, I installed it in the crank using a block of wood and a hammer. It went in straight and snug. I just tried to put the alignment tool in and it is very tight even after using oil on it. I am concerned that the transmission shaft will be a very tight fit. Now back to my question. Is this normal?? Thanks to all

The dummy shaft is not necessarily the same as the transmission shaft. Use a micrometer to compare the diameters of the shafts. If the transmission shaft is smaller, no worries. If it is larger ???? Ask someone else how to ream the pilot bushing.
 
Its tight probably because you have created a seal and are compressing air in front of the shaft. Rotating the dummy shaft as you push it in will allow the air to escape.
