RIP James Garner

My favorite

The Great Escape.... One of my favorite James Garner films.

He was one of my favorite actors.

"He could play "COOL" with the best of them plus he had that self deprecating humor to go with it."

He always came across as one of the most relaxed likeable and cool guys on the screen.

Walt I'm sure that was his Oklahoma breeding.:encouragement:

:iagree:

Shame he's gone, he was one of the coolest actors on screen. Murphy's Romance, with Sally Field, loved that movie! Loved it when she asked him how many candles to put on his birthday cake and he said, "just set the whole da_m thing on fire"!:highly_amused: PJ

He also did not have the "racing restriction" in his contact

(as Newman and others did.......in the early days, Newman would sneak into a Datsun 510 racer wearing Fitzgerald's Nomex and helmet).

I think Steve McQueen had a contact restriction too.

Anyway, Garner was a great racer (in a number of different types of racing venues) and an excellent actor. Will be missed.

There is a great obit for him ~HERE~.
