Out of respect for a 20 year friendship, I have decided to delete my original thread just in case as one never knows.

Even meeting this bozo through a friend I think I'd have set the record straight. Sounds like all he did was waste your time and insult your intelligence.

Can't, I already gave my word on my own accord that I wouldn't make any waves if, for some unforeseen reasons, things went bad on the other guy's end; a courtesy I extend for friends. If and when I burn I bridge, it's always one I built myself with my own lumber.

The wife was not happy with the opening remarks. Upon telling her, she looked up and with all the calmness, severity and softness of sear setting said,

"I'd rather starve to death then you ever have anything to do with him".

......*click*...

It's times like this that I look at her and think....:winner1:

. :yesnod:

Hands down it's the best feeling in the world.

Sounds like you handled things in a professional manner, which is always a good way to proceed. A good case of "you can't control others' behavior, but you can control yours."

Those sort of agreements always make me wonder what exactly I'm walking into. I'm sorry that for you it was a bad situation, it's probably just best to let it go and move on.

No red flags at first, it was my idea to mention it. I had ben trying to get him to get me in for years without any success. It was just happenstance during a visit with him when initial contact was made. There is a chance he may have tanked me due to perceiving me as a "threat" to what he had going on with this guy. That is why I mentioned I wasn't going to do or say anything that would jeopardize anything he had going on in any way. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't but the whole thing sure seemed like an "unvitation" but they kept coming back to the one thing they wanted me to help them on. The whole thing didn't make any sense, it would have to be the most insulting encounter I've had in my life.

Good news, another friend (a very well known local artist and great guy) wasn't happy about what went down and called his buddy in the biz and he's gonna see what he can do to hook me up. It's not a slam dunk but a definite start.

Good to hear, I hope this leads to something for you Billy.
