I had driven my TR3B on Saturday, and noticed that the choke cable knob's set screw was sticking out too far, but I forgot to tighten it when I got home. It probably would have been too late anyway, as when I went to drive to the British Car Gathering in Hellertown the next day, the knob pulled right out. I have not yet found this tiny screw, and wondered what size I should search for to fix this...
 
Hi Dave - until someone gives you specifics, have you tried just running a magnet slowly over the carpet? That should pick up the steel screw.

I plan to do that, but figured getting a spare or two would be good too. I hope all is well for you Tom.
 
Altho I'm not familiar with all parts on the TR3B, I've never seen a sidescreen choke with a set screw.
Everything I've seen is the style shown in the photos. :confused:

The replica choke assemblies offered by the known suppliers have that style spring, they don't offer the spring by itself. To my knowledge, no one supplies them. If you find a source, please let me know. I doesn't make sense to buy a whole new choke assembly just for the spring. You might fine a used push-pull switch with the spring intact. (That would also have the little pin as well) As a last resort, the set screw idea isn't a bad alternative. Fill the hole in the knob with JB weld, drill & tap it with a set screw small enough to fit in the hole that the missing pin sat in. Or tap that hole in the choke handle to fit an available size set screw.
