Where to go, what to see....

Several friends and some forum members will be at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. Used to live there, great area to be from. They have "winter" up there. :smirk:

:iagree: Spent 3 years in the army in Pittsburgh. Never even imagined there could be so much winter.

Being a nature lover, my wife and I always recommend the Grand Canyon as a must see! Amazing how many folks here in the states that have never seen it. It is a wonder of nature, so beautiful at sunset with the various colors displayed on the canyon walls. Lodging, tours, river rafting, mule rides down into the canyon floor along narrow paths! An exhilarating experience in it's self! Walking up to it the first time takes your breath away. It's almost a religious experience. PJ

The Grand Canyon is great, and if you are going out west check out Mesa Verde and some of the other ancient pueblo sites.

We'll be at Squirrel Hill at the vintage grand prix. They let us drive the race cars there with a police escort. Wayne Carini led us.
We'll be at Pittsburgh for over a week this year (it's two weekends of racing).
Here's a video of Squirrel Hill from our car:

 Nial!

If you decide to do the Grand Canyon, which I highly highly recommend you could start in San Diego and drive there with a few stops along they way. My English friends whom I took there loved the trip. They especially loved it when I stopped outside of Yuma Arizona and told them to get out of the Van and take a shot at 120 degree weather. They were from the Lake District and had never experienced weather that hot. When we got to the Grand Canyon and walked up to the rim they were blown away.
