My Wife was told that she could lose her job in the next few weeks.
She works at the local (non-profit) hospital,& has for the last 36 years.
Not sure what to do,until the other shoe falls. We may have to alter
our lives,& sell a lot off,& adjust things abruptly.
I might be selling off everything that I can.I hope that it doesn't get
to that point.I've already been planning on getting rid of uneeded things,
but this turns up the heat.

Stinky! Thinkin' of you guys here. we pray it works out. Prepare, but don't panic.

Doug, Best wishes here for a smooth ride over this obstacle! It might not happen, we hope for the best for you and the Misses. PJ

I sincerely hope that everything turns out alright for you guys.

Went through this three years ago. No fun but not fatal, either.

I will say this...having sort of been there.....15 years ago I got hit by a guy who ran a stop sign.
Ended up unable to work, on SS Disability.
Same thoughts.
Do we sell off?
No.
Belt tightening a bit, but we have continued on, sold nothing off.
Wife is 65...soon....will announce to her job (3 days a week Church Secretary, 26 or 27 years) that we are no longer attending there (34 years), and she may or may not be out of a job.
Not worried.
The big thing is, how far are you from having the house paid off?
Ours was, it's what made this do-able.
Dave

Dave,

Our house is not paid for - too many times helping our kids out.
We sill owe about $125,000 on it,but this was our decision.
We have helped out with student loans,so this is where we are,
plus our #2 kid is living with us,& we are raising our 9 year old Grand-
daughter.
