Wiper arms different lengths? - BJ8

Alas, I have failed again with the search engine. I have my original windscreen wiper arms and one is about 1/2" longer than the other. Which side is which? I'm guessing the longer one is for the right side?

Seems odd Chris. As far as I've been able to find, they are generally the same length. Sure they are original?
 
Who knows anymore. All I know is they came with my "car in a box" and they appear to be stainless so they polished up nicely. In reality I have no idea...made an assumption.

OH OH !!! Watch 0ut for them assumptions they can lead you inah wrong direction :angel2:
 
On a related issue, and out of curiosity, does anyone know when the wiper arms with the tightening screws were introduced? They do seem to fit more securely than the ones with the clip.
 
I believe earlier cars had 9" wipers while the BJ8s had 10". Someone may have installed a different length; not a bad idea come to think of it.
