The wife spent a day at the Ohio Honda factory in an "idea exchanging conference"
Brought home a little goody bag. Inside was a pamphlet on the Honda Jet.
Talk about pretty, and very interesting jet stanchions

Nice, but the pilot sets on a motorcycle seat and uses handle bars to steer it, which they will have to improve! They did remove the kick starter and kick stand though. :highly_amused: PJ

Where's the pull-starter T-handle?

Compared to all the Civics I see, finally a Honda where a huge rear wing and large diameter exhaust are appropriate.

 Touche'!

It sure is pretty though! Love the paint scheme. :encouragement: PJ

They do other colors, I think Yellow is the prettiest.
Couldn't find a good pic in yellow though

I suppose mounting the engines up there would help when taxiing (Landing? Taking off?) on dirt.

Do you think there'd be an advantage to having them close to the fuselage centerline, especially with respect to fuel usage?

They put them up there so the kids can lower the suspension.....

From the Brochure

A breakthrough in aeronautics, the Over-The-Wing Engine Mount was engineered and proven by Honda after more than 20 years of extensive research and development. This innovative technology not only breaks the conventional mold set by the aerospace industry, but also provides category-leading advancements such as a more spacious cabin, noise reduction, and increased fuel efficiency.

The Honda Aircraft Company has recreated the business jet from the ground up with a truly clean sheet design. By mounting engines over the wing, designing Natural Laminar Flow for the wing and fuselage, and applying other innovations, the HondaJet outperforms all other aircraft in its class. The culmination of cutting-edge innovation makes the HondaJet the world’s most advanced light business jet. It climbs and cruises faster, soars higher, offers more room and less noise, and uses less fuel.

Leave it up to honda to make brake throughs in fuel saving.

I see your point Don. Wonder what the caption was for that photo. "Buy our plane, and we'll throw in a jacket and tee for FREE!"

Are the above the wing mounted engines really a "breakthrough in aeronautics?" I just don't see how it is more economical than say how a Lear mounts its engines to the fuselage. I can see it being more quiet maybe but my breath just isn't taken away by the engineering miracle that took twenty years for them to develop. It is pretty though.
