TR2/3/3A Heater Spacer Threads are a mystery

Hey guys

What is the thread pitch for these spacers? I removed the spacers and cleaned them up as part of the heater refurbishment. And threw the nuts in the trash as they were very rusted. Just assumed they were 1/4-28. Well, they are indeed 1/4 inch but not 28 TPI. My thread pitch gauge seems to show they are 27 threads per inch. Well, I just don't see 1/4-27 nuts at my local hardware store. Any thoughts on this? I may just replace them with machine screws and add a couple nuts as spacers if I can't figure this out shortly.

Thanks Randall. I had a 28 and 27 gauge but from there, my next coarser was 20. Thanks for solving this one for me.

You could try a lock nut, The plastic inside the nut will conform to a little change.
True, but the steel part of the threads won't.
