There was a man from Boston, had an american Austin. There was room for his a** and a gallon of gas and...........

I always though they were cool also...especially the roadster. If you read up on them I think the media, with goofy limerick's like above, killed them. Made them an item of ridicule.

A '32 wouldn't have been a Bantam as such but that would be splitting hairs.

"Dug" (a member of this forum from Oregon) owns or owned a Bantam. I don't know if he still does or even how often he logs in here. From memory, he liked the car but not its 45 MPH top speed.

I think the price for the Craigslist car is fantastic if it still has the correct engine and gearbox.

I'm on a vintage austin list, and discussions on these come up periodically. From what I've seen, I would agree. Too bad there is only the one pic. Probably good it's as far away as possible. :highly_amused:
