I dumped my cookies yesterday to deal with this. No joy. I have cookies enabled yet each time I close and reopen the BCF I find that I have been logged out and must log back in. It's not beyond my physical capabilities to do this but it is just a wee bit annoying. I am not closing my browser and have no problems with other sites.

Questions:

1. do you have to log back in (username and password) if you leave BCF open in your browser, but then open another tab or window in your browser?

2. Does the problem happen *only* when you quit your browser and then start it up again?

3. Looks like you're using FireFox. Do you have the same problem using a different browser?

4. What do you mean with "when I close and open the BCF"?

Questions:

1. do you have to log back in (username and password) if you leave BCF open in your browser, but then open another tab or window in your browser? No

2. Does the problem happen *only* when you quit your browser and then start it up again? As I wrote in my post, I am not closing the browser. Since cookies are stored in the browser, closing it would end the session. I am closing only the BCF web site.

3. Looks like you're using FireFox. Do you have the same problem using a different browser? Yes, I have the same problem with Comodo Dragon which is my alternate browser

4. What do you mean with "when I close and open the BCF"? I leave the BCF by closing the web site...I click on another destination's shortcut which closes the BCF and opens the new destination. I am not in the habit of opening numerous web sites in separate windows or tabs. To return to the BCF I click its shortcut again to open it and leave the other. That's when I find that I have been logged out.

I have no idea what the problem might be, but I went ahead and cleared the forum system cache just in case that might have been causing a problem.

Thanks for the details. When you log back in (enter username and password), do you have "Remember Me" checked?

If you are dumping your cookies and keep getting kicked out of the pub perhaps you are drinking a tad bit much.

Are you using explore 11. Since I found out after clear cookies on my work computer and found it did an auto update to Explore 11 I have the same on all of the forums I got to. Checking the save box makes no difference. My home computers still have Explore 8 which I hardly ever use since I have had my I pad.

I had the same thing happen, I think it was early Spring this year and found out it was a glitch in my IE browser. I thought something was wrong with this site but that wasn't the case. I ran a deep scan on my hard drive with System Mechanic, took most of the day, and it picked up a couple problems and automatically fixed them. Haven't had that situation appear again. ????? PJ

sooo ... When you log back in (enter username and password), do you have "Remember Me" checked?

I don't use IE of any flavor but I am having glitch issues with Win 8.1 that MS apparently hasn't gotten around to fixing yet. We think we've tracked it down to the refreshing of some of the active tiles on the Start screen. Example: My system won't obey the Power Options sleep timer if it's connected to the network either but sleeps under manual command. Some of these glitches come and go and I guess this is just one of them.

Thanks for the suggestions, though...

For what it's worth, I tried Fire Fox to access teh site and have no problems. The mystery continues.

I never had stress like this when I used a typewriter, a filing cabinet and and encyclopedia.

Same here - we used to have secretaries or assistants who handled all this stuff for us. Where's Miss Wiggins when we need her?

I don't remember having to call Tech Support to change the typewriter ribbon ...
