Can someone tell me the diameter of the shaft on a TR6 alternator? I think it would be the same for a Spitfire & GT6 if that is easier. Thanks.

The transformation shown in your alternator article is dramatic. Nice work!

Not to mention all the other parts you've worked on- fantastic stuff, the water pump rebuild was really interesting! Look forward to seeing you tackle that body work, you seem to be up for the challenge.

Nice work! Makes the ugly one I am reviving look almost good -- its issue was mostly a coat of black paint that got everywhere.

The diameter info is what I needed as the fan and pulley for this specific unit (from a Jaguar) aren't showing up but Triumph parts abound.

Be careful, my information indicates that in 75-76 the TR6 alternator has a 17mm shaft diameter, and it takes a 6203 bearing.

Edit: Disregard the above info...

Sorry, but I double checked, and and the shaft size on the 75-76 TR6 alternator is 15mm. The 6203 bearing that it uses instead of the earlier 6202 is just larger in the OD, not ID (shaft size). For some reason I got dyslexic and thought 6302 bearing instead of 6203 that I was seeing when looking up this info.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. I'm trying to get the engine and ancillary parts all done this winter because I can do them in the warmth of my basement shop. Then it's out to the garage in the Spring.
