good call - my father wanted to give me his boat in the worst way - happy I said no.

Don't misunderstand, I love being aboard just about anything that floats (with the exception of some "cruise ship" nonsense). I'm a "water baby" at heart. Learned to sail and ski on Lake Erie as a kid, summers there were always too short. I still get a rush from a rag-boat heeling over in a steady wind. Nice old stink-pots like that Cape Dory are a delight to be on as well. I just don't have the resources or time to be personally responsible for watercraft.

Only thing better than a boat is a friend with a boat. My brother has a 30 foot sailboat - best possible scenario I can imagine. Oh, and my friend's pickemup truck is currently in my driveway - same principle applies.
