I have recently picked up an Austin A40 Somerset ( which the PO claimed to be a 1948 A40?) and I think this will be a long term build as my wife feels we should fix it up for car shows and such, I am inclined to agree with her, after all it only needs cosmetics, an interior, gearbox work, brakes, clutch master and slave cylinder, and to get the engine to fire :highly_amused::highly_amused::highly_amused:

Welcome from just down the highway... :thumbsup: Besides this fine forum, also try to make some contact with the British Saloon Car Club of Canada, with a membership across Canada (and even some Americans too) who play around with some of the more unusual British cars...

Thanks for the advice I will probably look into it when I get closer to starting work on it ( I have a 1953 International R130 that I must complete first for my daily driver)

I think you have found EXACTALLY what I have been searching for, and i've been looking for many years. A woman with a sense of humor. I never thought to look to the north.

I wound up having to get 2 more A40 Somersets I traded a 1979 Ford E250 "Funcraft" for the pair. My intention is to fix 2 out of the 3 and use the 3rd for parts. Come to think of it there's a guy in Saskatchewan with a shell that has a decent windscreen I'll see about it and let you know if he still has it.
 
This is my #2 A40 and from what I gather it is in the best shape (body wise) of all 3 of them. IMG_5181.jpgThe 3rd will be delivered after hunting season to my garage as well.
