BJ8 muffler on a BJ7?

I am attempting to reduce the the noise on my BJ7. Can the rear BJ8 muffler be added? If not any other suggestions?

The rear resonators of BJ8's would require you to "lift" the back of the chassis area for more ground clearance. Just lifting that area will not guarantee you that the resonators won't drag because they still do on BJ8's. Maybe someone will chime in on a quet earlier Healey muffler system?

The BT7 I am working on presently was so noisy I had to put my fingers in my ears- and it has a stock exhaust system (NOS, fitted >20 years ago). The muffler has lost all it's glass packing and is now completely ineffective so I am refitting another NOS muffler this week.

If you have an original style glasspack then maybe it just needs replacing due to lost material?

Early BJ8 cars (Phase 1) had the rear resonators even though the frames were the earlier style like the BJ7. Increasing rear ground clearance would be helpful, though. I've had good luck with just replacing the main leaf on standard Healey springs with one slightly thicker. A good spring shop can do this.

I have the Monza and it is very loud. Is this setup an improvement?
Are there axle/ground clearance problems with the mufflers?

no ground issues it was lower in noise I bought it because I like the tips
