Tom's Road Trip

Here's more proof that Tom is alive and well in Utah.

We almost lost the cars to an enthusiastic worker at Beaver Mountain Ski Resort who offered to trade us for a couple of golf carts.

Glad you made it safe to Utah! Couldn't have arrived at a better time, colors are just about peak right now, and it's not currently snowing.

Drew - thanks for the welcome. Here's another photo from yesterday:

Driving through SLC and on to Nevada later.

Wave up at the mountains to the east as you drive through Salt Lake City. :savewave:

Great "updates," Tom!

Tom,

Why am I not surprised that you won't be coming our way?
This seems to happen to me every time.

Hey Tom,
It was great having you here, but you've gone silent! We're all wondering where you are.

Hi Keith - I'm still vertical! Lost my camera-to-laptop cable so haven't updated the blog. Have to find another. Leaving Palo Alto for a CA-1 drive and then on to Bakersfield and Tucson. Spent yesterday visiting Google HQ and the Computer History Museum.

Last night my hosts made a wonderful Swiss dinner - raclette. I've had a Swiss connection for many years. Finished up with apricot tart. Ausgezeichnet!

Did you have waffles for breakfast today?

Tom

That B-36 is one of my all-time favorite planes! Makes me want to watch the movie Strategic Air Command with Jimmy Stewart.

It's fun to see these updates as I sip my "Historic Grounds" coffee! Keep on truckin' Tom!

Tom, I'm now home but it seems you simply passed us by? Let me know your plans.

Enjoyed our visit today, Tom. But checking "Week Five" here, I noticed your reference to Edinburgh TX. I think we may have touched on this before, but my mom was a school nurse for the nearby Elsa/Edcouch school district. Still have a sister who lives down there.

Mickey

Quick update - I'm back at home in Connecticut, safe and sound. Old car and old driver still ticking.

Total mileage: 7300

Details after I've recovered some sanity.

Tom
PS - western New Jersey is some of the nicest countryside I've seen.
