Yes, I suppose it was inevitable with my recent RHD Bugeye purchase:

https://www.britishcarforum.com/bcf/showthread.php?93113-1970-rhd-mgb

Hard decision to make, but in the end I really want to keep to a one-car-at-a-time plan. If the B doesn't sell I'll happily keep on driving it, but in the end I know that I'm happier with only one automotive mouth to feed.

Been a great car, will be hard to see her go but it's time for someone else to enjoy her.

I bet it is a hard decision though...:grouphug:

It is a very hard decision, but I've only got so much time and money -- with a lottery win I'd happily keep both cars. Given that's not about to happen (have to play to win, after all) I did some thinking over the last week. Trying to learn my lessons and actually *do* something to avoid having to relearn them.

A tough decision! Being a Spridget(s) and MGB owner (plus Miata), I totally understand the difficulty. I drove my MGB to work every day last week top down. Wonderful! And I even got some comments from random strangers on how great the car looked. But I am (slowly) looking for another car and it's likely that one of the current fleet will need to go. It'll probably be the MGB.

Ack.

Kinda surprised by this, expected Drew to muddle thru with the B as a driver and use the Bugeye as a more "casual" project!

 :cryin:

Drew,

I'm still dealing with the information that you bought another-
(gasp!) British car.

That was a possible outcome, but when I get right down to it I just don't have enough space/cash/time to keep two of these old girls on the road. I know myself well enough to know that the stresses of trying to come up with the funds and time required will make me unhappy. I'm just not really cut out for a casual project, hard to keep from diving in deep.

Besides, it has never been my goal to experience just one car. Since I'm not Jay Leno and can't keep them all, I have to try them in sequence. I expect this Bugeye will stay around for some time, but I'm not foolish enough to wager that it's a permanent keeper (though I won't be surprised if it does stay).

All car guys have the one car they can't resist, Doug. When my version of that came across my path I had to make it happen.

Don't feel bad Drew.....I sold my FJ40 recently.
That is a truck I'd owned for over 30 years.
I just didn't have the time to properly care for the thing.
Sad, but it went to a good home.

I am surprised at that one, but I do understand. If all they will do is sit than it can be time to move on.

Well, just sold the MGB tonight to a good friend in my local club. It'll be about an hour away from me now so I should be seeing it often. Buyer's a great guy, going to a good new home. Sad night, but it's been three good driving seasons with it and no regrets.

Tune Bug II? I'd say something snarky about changing cars, but then you might want to look into my garage.... gotta sell something soon.... going next week to look at two more....help....!

Hey there, Bill! Been meaning to drop you a line. Yup, another Bugeye in my garage, right hand drive this time. Sometimes you just have to do it. New bike as well, Moto Guzzi V7 Stone.

My goal for 2014 is to end out the year with the same vehicles I started with. Been many years since I've done that.

XK-140 MC roadster falls in my lap...I MIGHT sell off the 2.4L...but by "falling into my lap" means a whole lot less than one imagines.
Well, back to B/E's isn't so bad.
At least you're young enough that long trips doesn't kill your back and hips.
