Is there a late version of Myst that will run on W-8? I love the game and I don't normally play games, but my old version won't run 64 bit, ie W-7/8. They sell a combo pack, but I just want Myst and would like it on a disk. PJ

Isn't that like from 1998? I can't get anything old to run on Windows 8.

It is! That's why I want an issue that is compatible with W-7 and W-8. It's such an interesting game, I don't know why they wouldn't upgrade it to run on more modern machines. At times it really tests your memory. PJ

I don't know about Win8 but Win7 and earlier had a compatibility mode. You would install the program as normal then right click the program icon and choose "compatibility" in that drop down menu. There you have options for what OS to emulate, video options etc.

What's Myst?

It is what you get when.

1. You visit England

2. You have a pinhole leak in your cooling system.

3. Redneck - "That truck nearly hit me but it just Myst!"

Can you play this game online?

I don't think so. It's more or less a solo game. Quite intense at times. PJ

Used to have that game on an old Mac. It was a ton of fun
