Sorry not a Triumph owner, but looking for a part from one. In restoring my MG TF, I need a coupling to go through the firewall where a hose connection can be made on each side. I was told the Triumph had this fitting on some of their cars. Is this true and if so are they available. PJ

There is indeed a fitting that takes 1/2" heater hose on each side, and fastens to the firewall with clip nuts and oval head screws. The fitting is P/N 601950, TRF shows them available and on sale for $12. Originals were mild steel and somewhat prone to corrosion, so they also offer a stainless steel version as 601950/SS for $34.50 each.

You might also want the rubber gasket that goes under it, P/N 601951, $2.

Sorry I don't have a good drawing handy, but maybe this will help:

Paul -

In the back of my pea-brain, I think I may have one. Will check later today.

Thank you very much for the information! They look like they'll do just fine and being from a British car, I would think they'd be more appropriate. Hmmm, now if I put a Triumph part on an MG, do I have to rename the car? Now it's also going to get a Morgan paint job! :highly_amused: Thanks again fellas, much appreciated! PJ

MGs always run better with Triumph parts installed.

Marv

Thanks Marv! Now that makes me feel better! :highly_amused: Might sound crazy to some, but I want to keep any non MG parts British. So far, this is the only non MG item.:glee: PJ

Marv, The car is coming along well. I've collected many extra TF parts to use in the restoration if needed, including a new rare grill assembly. Probably be a couple years before it's done, but hopefully it'll look pristine at that time. PJ

Thanks Marv! Now that makes me feel better! :highly_amused: Might sound crazy to some, but I want to keep any non MG parts British....

Even if they are made in India :angel2:

I'd be more concerned about transplant rejection. All those drugs you'll have to give it, will it be worth it?

Well I have to report that a fellow British car enthusiast sent me a new duel Triumph through firewall heater fitting he didn't need and it will work perfectly. It'll make a nice clean installation. Very much appreciated! PJ
