Hi all,

I haven't posted much in a while, busy with kids and work and life I guess. Speaking of work, I had to travel to the UK last week for work. As I was reviewing my travel itinerary, trying to figure out the best way to get from London to the plant site, I noticed the address in Didcot... Oxfordshire... Wait, what? Oxfordshire, as in ABINGDON Oxfordshire? Yep, turns out Didcot and Abingdon are about 4 miles apart. After a little bit of scheming, I present to you my pics of Mecca. :excitement::banana:

Kimber House has been nicely restored. It was closed by the time I arrived at 6PMish. I wandered around back and took some photos of the famous MG/Pavlova sign, which has also been restored. Had to touch it too, just to say I did. The main admin building has been converted into modern flats, but it's still there. A little walkway leads from it to the main road across from which are the assembly blocks, housing new tennants. As I was walking around a nicely restored MGB-GT drove past, right on cue. The brick MG patio is just off a roundabout leading from the old plant toward the Magic Midget pub (the Magic bit has been dropped, it's just the Midget now).

It was a nice way to spend an evening.

The Magic has been dropped and it has been turned into a pizza joint. They do have one mural of the actual Magic Midget left. Got a picture of it when we were there (not sure the locals sitting in front of it were impressed).
Cheers,

Thanks for the pictures -- a place I'd really like to get to one of these days.

Cheers,

Dave,

When were you there? Looks like it's a pub again.
