General TR Those who think Victoria British is slow getting our TR parts to us

On late Thursday night I ordered a new rocker arm and pushrods to deal with my TR6's broken rocker from the initial crankover of the engine. They were waiting for me on my door when I got back from the lake today. Very impressive. Maybe I'll get them installed tomorrow!!!

Same here, Always fast. TRF too. Moss is the slowest to my area.

I've used all three for various TR projects. Moss just happens to always be the slowest and most expensive...but TRF used to have issues with stuff being backordered. Of course, this was ten years ago when I last ordered from TRF, so it's probably changed.

I've been ordering for ten years and Moss has delivered everything fast and right on time. Two business days after the order is made by phone.

Not really..but then I guess they are bound to run out of stuff from time to time..Right now I'm waiting on a half dozen Throttle Bypass Valve Diaphrams...
The last batch I got from TRF actually came from Joe Curto according to the label, but I had other TRF stuff I wanted this time, so I gave them the order and now I'm waiting... but I was told at the time of my phone order, so a back order wasn't a surprise.
VB is quick, Moss, too. and I can't complain about TRF timewise,.. if they have it.

I've still got items on back order from my restoration finished 2 years ago. Now days I never order without making sure the part is in stock.

I'm always surprised how extensive some of these businesses are - when you jump off the same catalog you use every other day and realize the big 3 do this for a bunch of other cars, and not just your own little gem. No surprise they are back ordered from time to time, when you think of all the parts they must have to juggle, and how slowly some of the oddball pieces must move. All in all I think they all do a great job. I recall the days from years ago when restoring a car was a lot harder. Today the word "restore" often means "buy and install replacement" parts. Classic Motorsports did a recent article on a number of things that have revolutionized the hobby (boards like this for one), and the expansion of specialty parts producers making low volume runs was certainly a critical one they spoke about.

Being in the middle of the country I can get the nearby Victoria British stuff in a day or two, TRF or Moss on either coast take 4-6 days, if I order from either on the weekend I usually get it by the end of the week, seems to me to be more geography than level of service. I like to order from all three, hope they all stay in business, competition is good for the customer I think.

I agree with Bruce. I had a small hardware business in the 70's, and our inventory variety didn't compare with these suppliers, but it was impossible to not run out and/or to please everyone. I really appreciate all three and wish them the very best of continued success.

I agree with Bruce and all.. it is pretty awesome to have reliable suppliers of parts for our fairly uncommon cars. Everytime I order something it's like waiting for christmas day to open the package! I have found Dave at TRF to be a great person to talk to about my TR3, he has always given me excellet advice and suggestions. Generally, the culture of the British car folks is that you are all just really cool people! I tip my cap to all of you! Thanks!
