Over arched Moss Motors leaf springs for Sprite MkIII

Congrats now get out and drive!

Yes I went from depressed at all the work I needed to do to feeling giddy driving with that Sprite smile on my face.

Often the advice you get on internet forums is questionable, but I've found that most spridget forums have people that good advice and second opinions abound. We probably should have been more adamant about flipping the shackles ... this issue has occurred before (not as frequently as the backwards trunnion)

Anyway ... glad you have it sorted.

X2 Trevor. And I have 2 suggestions.....

Amend the forum post subject line, in Moss' defense (ooops or my mistake or nevermind)

AND, loosen the shackle nuts, bounce the car a bit, and re-tighten them. I'm guessing you've got the bushings all torqued up, and they will tear, and there'll be complaints about bushing life.

Two words: instruction sheets.

I edited the first post and apologized in the OMG! Post and apologized to Moss Tech support who steered me to my mistake. The lesson here is to make sure the shackles don't get trapped in the horizontal position.

Well, I did mention that the shackles needed to be put right OR the problem was the springs. Or at least thats what my intent was. The guys at Moss have always done right by me and get most of my order's. My rebuilt 1275 spring is still giving me a bachelor lean and I may be sending in an order for one.

Kurt.

Kurt, lower the right front spring pan by about 1/4" and the bachelor lean symptom will be alleviated.

Trevor, a stack of washers or a lowering kit spacer cut in half?

I suppose some heavy duty washers would work. I made mine out of some scrap round stock.

Makes sense Trevor, I'll try that. Also thinking of making the sway bar link adjustable. That cured it on my BE. After my run to Elk Hart Lake last week end I have to do a bunch of work. My NOS front wheel bearings are loose already so I'm planning on doing what the racer's do and will be contacting Winners Circle. My transmission is rattling against my cross member because the glue that held my trans mount rubber in place failed and I still haven't got my steering as free as I want.
Plenty of little project's when you build a prototype!

Kurt.
