100-S sales brochure on e-bay

Hi all,
I see another 100-S sales brochure for sale on line again this week like the one that sold last week for +/- $170.00. This seller does not accept questions or comments so I thought I'd post a remark here so that an unsuspecting buyer knows what he/she is buying. I believe this is a copy of an original brochure given out at the 1989? Conclave in Niagara Falls Canada. The small number stamped in the lower right corner gives it away. My Father was involved in that Conclave and I still have a few copies from the run of copies which were all numbered to prevent copies being sold as originals. I suggest potential buyers do their homework before dropping $$$ on a possible copy. Sorry to the seller if this is an original but once again he/she will not allow remarks or questions. Good luck to all.
Dave

Yes this is definitely a copy., not like the real thing that sold for over $200 last week. The seller answered my questions and stated that he had it for over 30 years. That fits with the Niagara Falls Conclave. In addition to the number on the back, an easy way to tell if it is a repo, is to check for tire tread on the piece when it is opened. The real one has a nice tread on the wheels in the photo in the upper left, while the repo has simply a black tire without tread. Just compare the two examples on ebay. jim:driving:

Hi Jim,
Just wondering. How were you able to ask the seller your questions? I come across this from time to time and it would be nice to know a way to contact a seller when he/she does not accept or respond to questions.
Thank you for your imput.
Dave

dave - I just went through the normal ebay process. I went to the listing and under questions, noted other and asked the question about being a repo and then I asked him about the tire tread and I think he actually responded that there was none on the inside photo. He didn't seem to be concerned about selling as a repo, but he also did not post my questions and his response to me on ebay.jim:driving:

If the brochure is a repro and that is not mentioned in the ad then he is selling a fake which is illegal and certainly not allowed on ebay. No different to selling fake Gucci handbags. He should be reported to eBay.

Thanks Jim,
Odd since I went through the same process and was not able to get my question through.
