The body is mounted on the rotisserie. I don't know why the picture is upside down. My apologies, I guess I was standing on my head when I took the pic?!?

I want to strip the chassis down to the bare frame, so it can go to media blasting etc. I am starting with the front suspension. I will wait for the TRF spring compressor I just ordered before taking the damper and spring off.

I have disassembled the right front suspension. Can anyone tell me how to know if I need to replace the trunnions? I never drove or even had the opportunity to steer the car as it was a separate chassis and body when I got it. When I took the right side apart, it did not feel loose or floppy. I do plan to change out the track rod ends and the ball joints. Should trunnions be automatically discarded like the tie-rods and ball joints?

My opinion, but no you don't need to replace if they aren't loose fitting. Really you don't have to change out the balljoints or tie rods either if they are still tight but I almost alway do as decent parts still seem to be available at reasonable cost.

Kayo, I would just replace the trunnion bushings for the moment and check for looseness when it's apart. Up and down is the way to get a feel for replacement, if it's loose enough to bang or click, replace. Also unscrew them counting the turns and add 140 weight gear oil for about 1/2 inch and screw back on, have a pan ready for the overflow.
