Thanks, guys. I know this sounds insane, but someone swiped the ignition warning light and socket out of my car while it was parked in a parking lot last weekend. They cleanly cut the yellow and black wires leading to it, but they also pulled some of the harness loose. I think it's all back in place correctly, except while I was under there I noticed that the black ground wire did not connect to every instrument, it was not on the speedo, and was doubled up on the tac. Didn't seem right to me, but I wasn't sure if it mattered, since its obviously been running that way for years. Diagrams helped, thanks, Andrea:smile:

Ignition socket? do you mean the turn indicator socket? the ignition lamp is in the tach. If you need a replacement I have an extra. PM if you need it.

Andrea - great photos and videos of May Flowers 2013, but I didn't see any healeys? do they only reappear in June? jim :driving:

Having emailed back and forth with Larry about his ignition light issue, I believe he needs the actual socket that is crimped into the back side of the tachometer, so if someone has a braken tachometer for parts I bet he would appreciate the offer, because I think that is the only way he will get a bulb for his ignition light. Here is a picture of what I believe he is missing.

Hi Jim
Healeys is waiting his plates (40 days of Italian bureaucratic work!!??!!) then I can beginning the first 500Km road tests-if all is OK I will change the 10/50 SHELL semi-synthetic motor oil with the Syntetic 20/50 Red Oil- and again others 500km- if all is again OK, the first scheduled meeting is in TOSCANA Isola d'Elba 800km from Trieste (I shall make more than 2000Km total trip) with the friends of Tuscany MG Car Club, that hindly accept a Austin Healey

If AH road tests have some problems, I will make the trip with my MG TD

Yep, that's exactly what is missing. Thanks, Jim, for posting it.

You can get new lamp holders for the tachometer from good old Britain if you are stuck. There are a number of suppliers but try - www.vehicleproducts.co.uk, they do what they call pilot bulb holders in two forms - traditional and also for the 9.5 mm wedge shape bulbs.

Thanks a lot, Bob. I was sort of stuck on this one:smile:
