Can anyone clarify some top installation questions
Does the flap that I guess folds towards the windshield top get fastened through the top or do the fasteners go thru the top only and the flap just gets holses to go over the pegs.
Was this flap original design?
Does the flat edge sit out in front of the top edge bead,or get tucked behind?
Thanks
Tom

The flap gets holes punched in it to allow it to fit between snap and peg. It's supposed to work as a seal, but acts better as a deterent to getting the snaps to hold properly.
I fitted mine so that it's leading edge didn't extend beyond the front edge of the top. When erecting the top, I never put the flap in place, but tuck it between the top and frame to keep it out of the way.

Of course a TR3A registered as a 1960 could have been a pre-TS60000 car and not have that flap.

Thanks Geo.Not sure if the post 60k even matters.I recieved a tr2 top with 3 windows by mistake from TRf,My fault, and that had the same flap as the one they sent to replace.
I guess the next question is what size holes.Smalll to just fit over the ball of the fastener or a lttle bigger to fit over the base hex.
thanks
Tom

Mine (an Amco top from 1982) does not have the flap -- perhaps Amco wasn't concerned with originality, anyway I don't miss it.
