I have a customer who is nearing the need for carpeting and underlayment kits for his restoration on a TR3.

I have given him some tips, but now he would like to have more current information on brands and vendors pricing, etc.

I personally prefer cut pile over the loop stuff and synthetic over wool, but I have no recent experience with either of the above.

I'm busy as can be so I want to gather what I can from you folks.

All information much appreciated.:D

Jack, Moss never disappoints and I agree on the synthetic and cut pile, so much easier to keep clean. Get the sound proofing, big expense but worth the effort. If this is going to be a trailer queen the wool loop, not my bag but it works for a lot of folks.

Depends somewhat on how he plans to use the car and what color carpet is planned. This would affect my decision were I deciding today. Poe exemplo: is concours correct important? will he be likely to drive in the rain?

Apparently a rare factory option as my first TR4A came with shag carpet as well!

FWIW In 1985 I installed Wilton wool in the TR250. It's still looks great and cleans up very nicely. Wool carpet is the best IMHO!
 
I installed the wool also and it still looks great.
