Hi,

Mike Gassman of Gassman Motors put a new top on my 1970 TR6. To avoid tearing it, he said to not take it down until it has had 6 days of being heated and cooled. Hope this is helpful.

Best,

Phil Holmes

For this time of year thats probably a good thing to do. Where you're at I wouldn't think you would be driving with the top down right now anyway.

Mike Gassman, of Gassman's Automotive Products, Ltd., Waynesboro, VA, has started a new on-line newsletter, "Gassman News." In the first issue, out today, he has a very useful article on convertible care. The gist of it is that if you have your top up during the winter, you should not try to take it down or off if the weather warms up temporarily unless it hits 60 degrees because you can tear or crack the fabric or the plastic window. He's on the web at www.GassmanAutomotive.com.
