67 BJ8 Exhaust exit ?

I read somewhere (for the life of me I can't remember where!), that the original factory exhaust systems on a 67 BJ8 exited on the rear, left hand side IF the car was a LH drive car and on the right if the car was a RH drive. Has anyone ever heard of this?? I can find no reference to this question and doubt if what I read was accurate.
Thanks folks,
Tom

News to me. Parts manual shows all of them exiting the same side. Exhaust manifolds are all on the same side so it would seem logical that the pipes run all the same.

Patrick, I thought it sounded totally wrong. Just doesn't make any sense. I finally remembered where I read it--it was in print on a promotional series of pamphlets of old British cars, printed in the 90's by none other tham BMC!
Thanks for your confirmation of exactly my thoughts.

It would be great to find that "pamphlet" and post it here on the BCF! I'd like to see a concourse judge argue against it! LOL

I found the thing but I'm out of town for the weekend and it is back home. I'll post a complete scan of it Monday (once I figure out how to do it!) May make for some interesting discussion :highly_amused:
