5 speed

I'm suspect of anything that's been sloppily sprayed all over with silver paint. I see lots of dirt underneath in a a number of places. The worst five speed I ever had came from a professional rebuilder who painted it all over silver (over grease/dirt)

Here's one I recently rebuilt. No reason it needs silver paint.

I sold one last August, a good running non-rallye pattern (standard shift pattern?) 5 speed from a 210.
It was very dirty when I got it, pretty much a direct pull from a car that had been rear ended.
Since I drove the car before pulling I knew for sure it was a good box.
I cleaned it up as best as I could and flushed it out with clean oil and then drained it.
Figuring an honest looking case is far better than something spray painted to look "good".
My feeling is if I'd be happy getting it after paying out good money then I'm not afraid to ship it.
Everyone has a different idea of how much to clean something like this up, if I was taking it apart I'd wash each piece clean before reassembly.
Otherwise I just get the most of it cleaned up so you don't get messy when handling it.

It looked almost as good as the one in your pictures Gerard, so I don't feel bad at all about it.
The guy who got it is happy too, it's installed and working great.
He thought early on there was a problem, then he figured out that bad noise was his U-joint.
That was a big relief!

When you click to ask the seller a question you can't. I wanted to ask what the warranty on the rebuild was.
Rut

It let me ask, so I asked about the warranty. I'll post if I get an answer.

Here's his reply:

Me: Is there a warranty? If so please give me details.

Him: Yes 3 months

Him: - turbocharged-260z

Gerard can you rebuild the dogleg pattern boxes?

Fred

As long as I can get any parts that are needed, sure.

As I understand it there are some tricky bits that are different from the standard shift Datsun 210 5 speed, is that right Gerard?

I think they all have "tricky bits". They require a few special tools that you can by without on a ribcase, for example.
