I sure wish "Ruby" had gotten as far along!

Been awhile, usually The Triumph thread is my stomping ground.

I'm going to try something ,if it's okay.

I'm getting into competitive archery and wondered amongst the now thousands and thousands of members if anybdy amongst us is into archery.

LBC's , archery, it all fit's, right?

Not for me! Been waay too many times when I would have been tempted to shoot the car!

However, Basil has given us the ability to create "groups" for topics not covered in the regular forums. So if you want, you could create a group for archery, post a few messages, and see who else signs up. There are already groups for photography and Apple users, so archery seems equally appropriate to me. See https://www.britishcarforum.com/bcf...-How-to-make-your-own-discussion-Group-on-BCF for more info.

I need to be. I know a guy who lost an arm and draws with his teeth.

Actually LBC & Archery make sense - repair goes sour, you break down you shoot your car. Arrow hole will be much easier to repair when the remorse comes. :congratulatory:

Archers have always impressed - you might enjoy viewing this guy's skills.

Enjoyed it as a kid but when bows got complex and expensive I went to rifles and pistols. :jester:

We have your number doc.... you rifle through your CAB's at night and pistol dawn :rolleye:

got about 3 long bows,1 recurve and 2 compounds 1 left and 1 right ( I can shoot both). The compounds are both target bows although I haven't used them for about 5 years. 1 is a pse and the other has no name on it. Draw length for the compounds is 27-28" and draw wt 45-60 lbs. The recurve is a Ben Pearson 3350.

I own a couple cheap fiberglass recurves the kids shoot sometimes, and a long bow that was made for my dad years ago as payment for a stove he built a guy. The longbow is laminated bamboo with a draw length of 36" and draw weight of 65#s. It is a Scorpion longbow built by M.R. Hamilton.

Now, THAT I can appreciate, Walt!

My deer hunting uncle had a steel long bow with a similar draw. Dam'd thing was a challenge to a fourteen year old!

Doc, you were once a kid? :friendly_wink:

Doc, it is a cool bow has my dads name on it, and the date it was made. We lived in a little town in Crestone CO, when M.R. moved in up the road a pace from us. He built a cabin and had no heat so my dad built him a stove. He was broke after paying for the cabin (it was a pretty sweet place) and so he built my dad a bow. They hunted together for a couple of years after that till we moved up to Bueno Vista.

Very cool, Walt! These plebes should read up on Randy Hamilton, BTW.

I had no idea anyone had ever written anything about him. Around here no one has ever seen a bow like this one much less used one. I figured by now he was holed up in some cave somewhere, he was a little odd as I recall.
