Thanks for the heads up. It also shows on the Velocity channel at 9PM and again at midnight...Eastern...

If this is the segment I saw, Ed neglected something important (as I recall). After watching, see if you can tell what he did not check.

I watched this on the internet a while ago.... If I recall, he never check the dreaded TR6 Thust Washer end play????

I sure wish I had that fuel injection system on my TR6. Has anybody tried the water less coolant in any of their cars? They didn't say how many miles the car had on it.

Yeah, the waterless coolant. Ed didn't even mention what it was. Something to Google today.

Maybe they didn't want to go near the thrust washer problem, as it might have pushed the car over budget. As long as it wasn't clattering around, they could then sell the car in good conscience, not knowing of any problems.

Did I heard Ed say that was a 1975 TR6? If it was it didn't have the high front bumper with parking lights. There were several other things that were different from US cars. A friend of mine from UK said they didn't offer them with trim rings on the wheels over there. Noticed no flag decala on the back fenders either but they did say it had a respray. Do love the show. First time I heard of the waterless coolant. I read the comments from the A/H forum, folks didn't seem to impressed.

The waterless coolant is listed on Ebay and it's not cheap. I also wondered if the gal that bought the car actually took it out for a spin, or just purchased it right off the bat? I did like the show.

Let's see how Ed does 500 hours of work in 3 days.:highly_amused:

Thought the valve job was interesting in that they simply reused the old valves...and the decision to replace the guides was done by "feel". Never mind upgrading to ARP studs and head bolts, new valves, etc. Did the gal who bought it know the head-bolts should be re-torqued?

Anyone know if they sell this stuff in B.C. Canada?

They didn't say how many miles the car had on it.
The mileage is 85,700 don't know if that is miles or kilometers. It was in the ad at the beginning of the show. Looks like miles the speedo is in mph. Is that odd for a car in the UK?

All the cars I owned in the England were MPH, I think one had both on the dial. The 37 MG and 49 Triumph are MPH.

I just wonder how a rust free TR6 had a fuel tank that looked like it had been soaking in the English Channel!

You have to vat the tank to clean it. The solvents will remove all the paint and hopefully all the gunk inside the tank. After removing and drying the tank it will oxidize and look like its been laying outside rusting for years. Preps it for welding as well.

Whoever mentioned the thrust washers is "spot on". Ed never checked. It was a simple matter too. I hope the buyer doesn't need a new engine...
