Front Wing Sealer Plates

Quick question - to fit the front wing sealer plates, do any of you cut the top rubber piece (the one that pop rivets to the sheet steel sealer plate) so that the rubber just fits under the fender. My top rubber pieces are too large, and they deform in unusual ways under the fender. Thanks

Pat

I leaned mine forward. They were slightly larger than needed, but not too excessively so. Are yours way too large?

Hey Pat
I did the same as John. They will conform to the fender.

Make sure you get the rivet heads on the correct side or they will pull the plates away from the inner fender. Ask me why I know this?

Yep, that's one of my problems. Rivet heads are indeed backwards. Luckily easy to fix. Holes line up real nice the second time around....

I also needed to bend the top tab back towards the B Pillar. It was straight up and shoudl be angled back a bit.

Thanks

Pat, could you post picture of how the top tab is supposed to be bent toward the B post, and also which way around the rivets go. I would like to make sure I do it right when I get ready to do mine. Thanks!!
Regards,
Bob
