Why is it OK to Lie?

Why would you ever tell your Child/Grandchild that it's wrong to lie,& then you buy a car for $10,000,but tell the DMV that you pasid $500 for it? If your Child/Grandchild saw/overheard you dealing in such a trans-action,would they wonder why you told them that it's wrong to lie,but that it'sOK,if you're paying money to the DMV,etc? I'm sorry - but this bothers me that people will lie about things, but it's OKif you're cheating the Government.Kids see things - & learn by what they see. When people ask me to put a lower selling price on a bill of sell,I tell themthat I won't do that, but I'll leave it empty,& they can fill it in,& that I won't lie,ifI'm asked what I sold it for. Sorry, but I had to get this off my chest. - Doug

Sorry, but I just had my 57th birthday (just means I'm getting old),
& have our almost 8 year old Granddaughter living with us.

It isn't ok to lie At least that's what they drilled into our heads at Officer Training School "I will not lie, cheat or steal, nor tolerate anyone who does."

You have a PM.

But can ya say, "I'll never rat, fink or sell anyone out?" too?

I lie all the time. Sometimes I sit and stand too....but not as much as I lie. :jester:

So Doug, is it o.k for the government to lie, cheat and steal from you ?

...cause it happens all the time...

Matter of fact, it's happening as we speak...

The reverse of that coin IS the DMV.
Talked to a guy once who bought a totally rusted out early 70's Chevy pickup.
Doors flapping in the wind.
Paid $500, so he'd have something to haul stuff to the dump in.

DMV says, not so fast.
WE think it's worth $15,000 (or whatever stupid number it was) and charged him 9.5% sales tax on that.
The tax was three times what he paid for it...with no recourse.
"Render unto Caesar"....but what do you do when Caesar rips you off left and right?

When people ask me to put a lower selling price on a bill of sell,I tell themthat I won't do that, but I'll leave it empty,& they can fill it in,& that I won't lie,ifI'm asked what I sold it for.

So, aiding and abetting is o.k. Glad we got that cleared up.

Didn't think we had those powers
I had asked earlier

We have all sorts of powers.

I have the power to wrap CHEESE in something healthy....

BACON!!!

I like cheese also! We ate the oldest stuff at my 65th birthday & end of the world party a few weeks ago. Very sharp by very edible if you like sharp cheddar.
