Buy it, pull the tranny and scrap the car for $200. A 5 speed for $150.00 Or pull the engine and tranny and drop it into a Spridget for extra HP.
 
Man... I just want the car. (I have a weird affection for old Datsuns)
 
Yeah, I view the one we are using as a daily driver for the wife as a little bank in which we have a nice little 5 speed nestegg deposited.
Sweet to be getting great fuel economy now, and later if and when she gets tired of it I can swap in a 4 speed and put the 5 speed in a spridget!! Then the car will still go on, and one of my projects will have a sweet little transmission!
At $350 I'd be surprised if the guy still has the car. Too bad it's a couple hundred miles from here and my wife would literally skin me alive if I brought another car home right now!
 
I guess I'm just not in the mood right now... namely, have too many other irons in the ol' fire. It's a terrific deal, and storage would be an issue for me until I could pull it (and get rid of the rest of it). As it is, lucky me, I store my Frogeye in my across-the-street neighbor's garage (as we have our 2 car garage full of our daily drivers).
 
Gee that one needs a new carb, I've got a complete engine including carb sitting in my shed...
I've also got way too many projects.
But - I will show my wife and see what she says.
Maybe she would be happier with the station wagon over the sedan we already have.

Rick the station wagon very likely has the A15 engine as well but I'll bet it's gone by now.

You NW coast guys are spoiled rotten with cheap stuff. You never see anything like that down here.
