Spelunking on Craigslist

So I have a love/hate relationship with Craigslist. I love how many wacky things I find there. I hate that when I find them I have neither the time nor money for them.

At any rate. I just discovered that you can do boolean searching in Craigslist. I don't know if I'm simply slow or if it's not a well known thing.

I made an epic Brit car search query. Just drop this into the search box (without the quotes): "triumph|mg|mgb|austin|jensen|sunbeam|hillman|opel|bond|bristol|ace|BSA|daimler|elva|frazer|humber|marcos|peerless|talbot|tvr|wolseley"

I found all sorts of neat things I otherwise would have missed. There's even an old Opel Olypic for sale in Tucson. Also, I learned the hard way not to include Bentley, MINI, Jaguar and Rover. Otherwise there's too much modern car signal-to-noise.

Off to skulk around on craigslist some more.

And there are so many FUNNY things there...

Quick amendment to by above post. Because the line wraps on the forum you need to copy/paste it into notepad (or similar) to ensure there's no line breaks for it to work.

Not with Linux, Jody!

I have almost given up on eBay. But there are still deals on craigslist if you are willing to hunt.
The 1275 currently in my race car was from a craigslist car that was 3 miles from my house. And my Red Rat Spridget street car came via the local craigslist too.

I have personally made one 24 hour round trip to get something as a result of this craigslist web-tool:

Boy Nial I think you might become my wife's least favorite person soon. I have already found a Spitfire parts car, a TR6 and a few other things I will be looking at soon.

I needed my oxy-acetelyene rig back from my kid. So, I looked into buying him one. Tanks and fill would have cost me $400. Not counting gauges, hoses, tips, cart...

Looked on CR, less than a mile from me, tanks at least twice the size of mine, full, two sets of gauges, boxes full of heads and tips, cart, wrenches....all for $300.

I found some Thomas trains, gonna get them for the granddaughter, fairly local, 20 miles or less.....I tried six times responding, never, as in ever, got a reply.

Goes either way, I guess.
