Last of the Angry Sports Cars

I remember reading a quote many years ago that labeled either the Big Healey or the Big Triumph (TR6 for you Healeyfiles) as <span style="font-style: italic">"The Last of the Angry Sports Cars."</span> I thought the description so apropos that it has stuck in my head all these years. Which car would it have described and to whom can the description be attributed?

In 1963 or so I visited the British Motor Corporation dealership in Seattle near the new Space Needle, a beautiful modern facility handling Jaguar, Austin-Healey, MG, etc. Inside the showroom on the wall was a large dealer poster full side view of a top down buttoned down ready for action
1963 MKII Austin-Healey convertible (BJ7) in Old English White with the statement so cool so appropriate, "The Last Angry Car." I've never forgotten it. I would love to have that poster today.

They also famously used that phrase in magazine ads, although those are also rare.

It does seem to capture something about the big Healey, all right.

Oh, I left him enough room as I ran away from him down the back straight. But I was a little chapped that he brake-checked me entering T# 7 a couple seconds prior.
