TR2/3/3A Another annoying squeak coming from the clutch pedal area?

When I depress the clutch pedal there is a squeak and I have hit every moving part that I can see with WD 40 and PB Blaster with no luck. What am I missing here. I'm pretty sure it's in the clutch pedal assembly? The clutch itself is working as it should.

Contrary to common belief, WD-40, which was the company's 40th attempt to develop a liquid for Water Displacement, is only a poor lubricant. (PB Blaster is apparently similar in that regard.) Aerosol Tri-Flow lubricant, which is widely available, might solve your problem.

What you can not see is the bushings for the brake and clutch arms. To get to them takes a full assembly removal from the car.
They are old, just like us. We sqeak and live with it.

I was hoping I would not have to remove the box that the brake and clutch arms sit in. Maybe drill a small hole in the box for the little red lubricant straw on the WD 40 can and hose down the internals.

WD40 sucks as a lubricant. Try using real oil on the pivot points, and if that doesn't do it, remove the pedal assembly and relubricate or replace the bronze bushings if necessary, which will probably be the case. Don't just squirt a little oil on them. They have to be immersed in oil for a day or so, so it can soak into the sintered material.

Maybe wearing hearing aids is a good thing. I can get rid of lots of little noises just by turning down the hearing aids. But I bet you don't hear any squeak when the engine is running or you are driving.
Maybe you should save this for a winter project and just enjoy driving for the rest of the summer/ fall.

There are bronze bushings inside the boxed in clutch/brake pedal assembly? That's a new one to me .

I don't remember if they are bronze, but there are bushings and a through bolt that holds the pedals at the pivot point. Unless the squeak is really bad, that is a job for winter break?!?

You're right I don't hear the squeak when I'm driving. I am enjoying the fall like driving now especially now that I solved the starter and clutch issues that kept the car off the road for a couple of months. I've had the car for so long I'm aware of any noise that doesn't seem right. For example when I put the new starter in and went for a test drive I felt a hesitation on acceleration in all gears and thought I had heard this once before a long time ago...... it must be a loose SU dash pot. Sure enough the dash pot cap had worked itself loose causing the stumble. Only noise I want to hear is that wonderful exhaust rumble from that old 4 banger.
