David Clayton Thomas RIP

Sad news. I've been a BS&T fan since I was a teenager.

hoo boy - BS&T - what great memories that brings.

Spinning Wheel, You make me so very happy, God Bless the Child, ...

Yes, but there were so many.
Years ago I heard an interview with him - there never was A BS&T as he used an array of studio musicians - still, he said that the franchise was worth 5 million dollars a year but ONLY if he played his old stuff. No one wanted to hear his new compositions. He was relating the story of editing a track of a new song. His daughter called him to supper. He asked for a few minutes to complete the song to which she replied "why?" "noone is going to hear it anyway."

As I get older I am grateful that I am not constantly bombarded with younger versions of my self as actors and musicians typically are. I think I can understand how strange that would be.

That's rather sad, but I suppose true for people who found fame at a young age.
