Forum Upgrade UPDATE!

Hey everyone! I’ve just completed a major upgrade to the latest version of our forum software. It’s been a big (huge) effort, and while the core is up and running, some familiar features might be temporarily unavailable. That’s because some third-party add-ons need checking or updating before they’re back in action (some older add-ons may end up being incompatible) . In the meantime, you’ll notice some new capabilities in the forum—I'll be sharing details soon. One big one is that now you will have the capability of using passkeys to login instead of using your password. This is just an added layer of security available for those who wish to take advantage of it. Many commercial sites are now using optional passkeys (look it up if you don't know what passkeys are).

Thanks for your patience as I ensure everything runs smoothly!

I thought pass keys were for not letting my drunk older brother drive!

(y)(y)-As always, much appreciated!

Thanks guys. There are several "add-ons" that I had to disable to do teh upgrade. Now I have to go through each add-on to determine which ones still work, which need to be upgraded (if an update is available) or which ones will need to be eliminated. None of these add-ons affect the basic functionality of the forum, but just added some "nice to have" features.

Maybe I am a Ludite, but what is a passkey and how does one use it?

Thanks for the upgrade Bas 👍

Leo can explain it better than I.
Sorry, I got lost after less than 5 min. in.
I can only rely on gurus who I trust weather to use it or not.
But I don't know how or when to use it.

By the way, thanks basil for the Herculean effort.

The website has been unreachable first thing in the morning - today and yesterday. Upgrade issues? Thanks for continuing to provide this resource.
