MGB Late Model 1969 MGB Question

Hi Guys

I'm in the middle of a restoration of a 1969 B and I have a question regarding the seats. The seats that are in the car now look to me to be from a 1970+ model as it has the single post adjustable headrest. These don't appear to have been installed by the previous owner (I asked). I also see that there is a 1969 B listed on Bring-a-Trailer and it too has the single post headrest seats.

My questions is... Could a late model 69 B have been fitted with early 70 B seats from the factory? AND... Do you think this will affect the value of the B for future sale?

I have a lead on some 69 seats, but I'd rather not spend the extra money if keeping the later model seats doesn't affect the value.

Thanks for any information you can provide.
Kevin

The ‘69 B came from the factory with the ones on the left, and in ‘70 they went to the ones on the right.

I thought that was the case. Do you think that the frame is the same for the 69 and 70, except probably for the seat foams?

Thanks
Kevin

Would think that most of it is the same, minus the head rest. I believe these are a 1969 issue only, and very ugly.
Just sold a GT on trailer for 26+K that wasn’t totally correct, but very a very nice car.
