Problem Re-Registering!

Seems like the site constantly reflects back to PayPal, which I haven't used in years and would prefer just using a card direct. A little help would be nice on this situation. Thanks, PJ

I don't want to re-register, I just want to pay to update with a card, not PayPal.

Hi Paul - are you trying to use a credit card to continue your BCF membership?
Tom M.

If you're just trying to change your BCF payment method, I'd suggest sending a PM (conversation) to Basil. There's a more convoluted method depending on several things, but contacting Basil directly will get 'er done.

Thanks, Tom, will do.

I've a Paypal account for a long time, but didn't use it for a few years.
I went to use it to buy parts for our GT from a vendor,& got a notice saying
that my account was suspended.
So I called Paypal,& got a hold of a real person who told me that in
order to restore my account I had to do facial recognition via my computer,
which I refuse to do.After complaining to him he told me that the higher ups
wouldn't reinstate my account unless I did that,or I could send a picture of my
driver's license & a note & they would do it.They refused,so I'm now done with
them,& they won't get any more of my money.

Paul, not to worry — you don’t actually need a PayPal account to upgrade 👍

When you click the upgrade button, PayPal pops up, but there should be (is) an option like “Pay with debit or credit card”or “Checkout as guest.” That lets you just use your card like any normal online purchase — no PayPal login required.

PayPal is just acting as the payment processor behind the scenes.

If you don’t see that option or run into anything weird, let me know and I’ll help you through it.

Going down the list, nothing refers to "Pay with debit card" or check out as a guest.??? All I want to do is pay 25 bucks to get rid of the flags and get back to normal.

First click on which level you want to upgrade to. Then you will see the page like the image I posted above.

I did that with the Silver upgrade, and it just jumps to PayPal; there is no info on using a credit card. Crazy, never had this happen before. :rolleyes2:

Paul, the first thing that pops to mind is that PayPal recognizes you and logs you in already when you go to that page. Try clearing your cookies (If you know how to selectively delete cookies, then you just need to delete any cookies you have related to PayPal, otherwise just delete them all (you will of course have to log into BCF again). This sounds like a cookie issue.

I forgot how to delete cookies:rolleyes2:! Sorry, getting too old for this stuff. Wish my son-in-law were here; he works for a computer company, a couple of clicks of the keys and he'd be in.

Hi Paul - which browser do you use? Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox, etc.
