New Drone Test Flight

As I posed a couple days ago, I recently purchased a HoverAir X1 Pro Max micro drone. The other day, I finally had a chance to test fly it. I put together a little video on the test flight experience. NOTE: You will have to click the embedded video to view on YT. For some reason, the YouTube embedding is broken and I'm trying to figure it out.

Does it have FPV on the controller or can you see the video feed on your phone?
Nice videos.

I think so when you’re flying manually, but in the auto modes it just follows or flys a pre-set pattern and records the video for later playback. I’ve not tried the manual flight yet. That’s next.

I was curious because I noticed that as you walk around you are commenting into your phone. Is the audio being captured by the drone?

No, the audio is captured on the iPhone via the drone app. You then need to β€œexport” the video to the phone via the app (over Bluetooth). The audio will then get synchronized with the video. From there you can move it to your computer or wherever.

Great explanation, thanks.
My only exposure to drones was in November when I was in South Africa. They were using them to monitor rhinos to protect them from poachers. The drone was very far away and the camera on it was fantastic (real time). My buddy let me land it on the return flight.
I could easily get hooked on one.

This micro drone isn't really suitable for major tasks. It's more of a hobby drone that just lets you get some cool adventure shots at a relatively close distance. It's fun though because it's easy to use, has lots of "modes," and, as you can tell from the videos, doesn't make a huge amount of noise.

I’ll be waiting for what’s to come…..

You’d probably want to get a β€œreal” drone for something like that.
although as per your 'test' and much like many cell phones the quality is there for many of these types of photo/video.

When we bought our last house one of the reasons we got it (and at the price we paid was (I am convinced) down to the poor quality of the photos.

When we sold it they had a professional come (360 deg shots) and we made them redo them due to the poor quality.

The new owners tried to sell this past summer and if anything the photos were even worse.

So the video that I uploaded here was only 1080 P even though I actually shot the video in 4K. To save space I exported it as 1080 P. This little drone is capable of shooting super high resolution, 4K and even 8K video believe it or not.
