Travel safe if you're on the road coming or going to friends and family. Get great presents, have happy young family members, a wonderful dinner and plenty of catching up if you don't see each other often.

So it proved to be a hobby Christmas in the Smit household - with a healthy dose of 3D printing.
Darling daughter gave me a model (Lotus 7) and herself a model of a Monkey 125 Minibike - so we can make them together.
Beloved wife gave me a backpack for travelling
Son and Daughter gave me a 3D printed organization system for my tool chest. (sockets and wrenches) - called gridfinity - based on a standard sized square which can be printed in any number of variations - with any number of things that plug into it. All free downloads for the thiniverse community. (based on a 42 mm grid - because life the universe and everything.)
Oh and son also gave me a TOPDON bluetooth OBD2 scanner - very cool!
I will post pics tomorrow as we play with it.
In the meantime - my son has had Statler and Waldorf dolls since he was a child (the Muppet Show) my daughter printed the theatre seats for them - amazing!
Oh and my family and my brother's family - and my mother in the middle. I am wearing the red check shirt - Mrs JP to my right - tall son to her right and daughter knealing next to my mother (also in red check shirt. A lovely day was had by all.

Not involved myself with 3d printing ( don’t think I’d understand the programming aspect) but I can see that IF I did I’d be addicted quite severely !!

Friends and family enjoyed baked ham, grilled brussels sprouts, Ukrainian carrot/apple salad, tomato/garlic rolls, corn casserole, lemon cheesecake and McVities "Queen Elizabeth II Chocolate Biscuit Cake" with Bird's Custard.
We popped the Christmas crackers, donned the Christmas crowns, raced the wind-up plastic reindeer, guzzled more cider, and a good time was had by all.

A couple of years ago MrsJP and I were teaching a course at our seminary by Zoom. We went to the In Person convocation and one of the students was sooo much shorter than she appeared on camera - it was hilarious!
Oh and I am normal height just standing between a tall nephew and a taller (6' 6") son.
