I could not really see them with naked eye, but took a long exposure and voila!

That is so C O O L !

The mission chapel outlined by one of Nature's great creations - really nice photo.

Beautiful, peaceful scene.

Had no idea that was happening. Gonna try to catch 'em tonight...

Thanks. I wanted to have something at least semi-interesting in the foreground. That Catholic Church is San Francisco de Asis in Golden, NM, about 30 minute drive from my house.

We caught them last night as well. Same issue, not very visible with the eye but a cellphone camera caught it nicely.

News report showed them from counties North of the Golden Gate bridge.
Our sky in Pacifica is so fog and clouded over didn't even try to see.

Groovy. No chance viewing this natural and amazing phenomena in SoCal but I'll strain my eyes northward for a hopeful glimpse.

Glad someone got photos. We had clouds, and too much light pollution. Tonight is rain, so we won't even see the sky.

We could see them here in Kansas last night. Not sure about tonight, though.

During the Bicentennial, I was living in San Francisco on Sacramento St. across from Alta Loma park. A bunch of us gathered on the hill to view the fireworks over Alcatraz, but it was very cloudy and foggy, so nothing could be seen. That didnโ€™t stop folks from โ€œooh-ingโ€ and โ€œah-ingโ€ the noises from the unseen fireworks!

They were even visible in Oklahoma.

Just back from a Norwegian cruise and the northern lights were amazing.
But some still looked like cloud with the camera bringing out the best in the colour.
Highly recommend a fjord cruise.
Now Iโ€™m jealous!
